Book launch for “Gaza – Nur der Weg nach vorn" in Basel

Brian Barber's reading tour from November 4 to 30 began in Basel with a book launch at the Labyrinth bookstore. After the reading, during which both Brian Barber and Claus Jahncke read excerpts from the book, attendees had the opportunity to discuss the book with the author over wine, bread, and cheese, which they eagerly took advantage of. Further stops on this reading tour included Bern, Zurich and Fribourg, Innsbruck and Vienna, Mannheim, Hanover, and Freiburg im Breisgau. From mid-November, the reading tour continued in Ticino and Italy to present the new Italian translation.

On October 25, 2025, the book launch for “Die Frau und Sex” and “Woman and Sex” took place as part of the event “Celebrating Arab Feminisms: Resistance and Resilience” (more information). The panel on Nawal El Saadawi was moderated by Cora Josting, president of the Ibn Rushd Fund. Gihan Abouzeid, Dina Wahba, and Sophie Haesen discussed what Nawal El Saadawi meant to them and how she had influenced them.

We are delighted to announce that “No Way but Forward” (the English original edition of “Gaza - nur der Weg nach vorn”) has been named a finalist in the IAN Book of the Year Awards in November 2025! The IAN (Independent Authors' Network) is a network of independent authors whose works are either self-published or published by small publishers. After the evaluation process was completed, “No Way but Forward” was selected as a finalist in two categories: “General Nonfiction” and “Inspirational Nonfiction.”

Gamila has donated a copy of each of its books on Palestine to the Palestine Library in Frankfurt. This mobile library, which has also organized the “Liberatory Book Fair” alongside the Frankfurt Book Fair for the past two years, lends out books on Palestine and anti-colonialism.
